Google Nexus 8 With Android 4.5 To Come In July [Rumor]

Google will wait until July to unvel its new Nexus 8 tablet with Android 4.5, rather than using the Google I/O event in June to make new product announcements, an inside source claims. The new tablet is expected to become Google’s main focus for Android 4.5, while the smaller Nexus 7 will apparently be killed off entirely.
“A Google Dublin employee said to us that his superiors have told him that Android 4.5 will be officially unveiled in July along with a new tablet, dubbed Nexus 8,” reports Android Geeks. “He also confirmed for us that the I/O 2014 conference will focus on new services Google is planning to bring on the market.”
It’s unclear what Android 4.5 will be called yet, or what kind of features it will bring — but I’m sure most Android users would have been hoping for a more significant Android 5.0 release this summer instead. We were expecting Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie last year, but Google gave us 4.4 KitKat.
Android Geeks claims the new software will be available first on the Nexus 8, which Google is expected to use to compete with larger devices like the LG G Pad 8.3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. The source claims that this year’s Nexus 7 will be the last.
This certainly isn’t the first time we’ve heard whispers about an upcoming Nexus 8, but it’s still advisable to take this rumor with a pinch of salt for now.
